Gang of Ghosts Movie Reviews

Ghosts were never ever meant to be comical … until Ivan Reitman made Ghostbusters in 1984. Satish Kaushik’s funny-ghost tale is most certainly not Ghostbuster re-’bhoot’-ed.

Rajesh Khattar as the avaricious contractor with his thick Gujarati accent that punctures the saturated soundtrack reminds us of the truly comic films about land usurpation like Dibakar Banerjee’s Khosla Ka Ghosla.

Gang of Ghosts goes into convulsions of periodicity induced though some badly-written tracks recreating a nasal fond memories and via different hues of off-colour photography where the cinematographer (Johnny Lal) seems to rapidly dislike the aura of the age. The shades of grey sharing a period gone-by start to diminish and fall apart quickly enough.

That’s the trouble with this funny. Everything is half-hearted. The property pulsates with parodic probabilities. Satish has a substantial actors of talented actors at his disposal. Alas, many of them seem to be on comic probation, dispensing their focus on the wit in the script with rationed casualness.

Some personalities do manage that stimulate at night. Mahie Gill‘s coquettish over-dramatic Mala Sinha-styled actress is well done. Saurabh Shukla as a Bengali ghost scores with well-delivered lines. Saurabh speaks as though he relies on ghosts while many of his co-stars could not care less.

The majority of the other stars appear to toss their indifferently-written dialogues on their tongue for taste, and afterwards quickly divided them out.

Some skilled actors like Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajpal Yadav merely clearly seem to be from types, searching for something to secure their abilities to. The narrative is slippery as an eel. The humor produced by ghosts on the edge of expulsion is sunk in numbers. Characters crowd the plot like lines at a ration store uncertain whether the guaranteed food supply would reach their hands.

You want Satish, a star and filmmaker of incredible comic opportunities would have paid additional attention to making the ghosts come active with additional computer animated energy. Curiously, this should be the first ghost story without any unique effects invoking spirits. Experimental or just simple budget-challenged?

The film does instill a semblance of ridiculing trigger in the scare saga. There are some portions where the spirits increase to a charming degree. If only the narration was able to make us believe that ghosts can be fun even when they are on the edge of shedding their houses.

Without the advantage of a credulous script, these other-worldly personalities do not stand a ghost of a possibility.
