The 58-year-old actor, who won an Oscar for best direction for the film, said he wanted clarity in the fight scenes and did a lot of detailing to achieve that, reported Contactmusic.

“The thing I wanted out of the battle sequences was clarity. I’ve seen a lot of these battle movies and they just turn into mush.

“I broke it down to archers and horses and hand-to-hand and who had the high ground and the low ground, everybody was clearly delineated, even though it was often the same bunch of people playing different parts,” he said.

‘Braveheart’, the historical war drama had Gibson in the lead role of William Wallace, who led his native Scotland to war against the English. The movie became an instant classic, with its battle scenes admired by all, and also picked up five Oscars.

Gibson also revealed the person who came closest to death on the sets of ‘Braveheart’ was himself.

“There was a horse that nearly killed me. He had a good trick where he did this whole rear-up thing, but he’d also fall backwards, which is a problem if you’ve fallen off first and you’re behind him.

“He did that to me. My stunt double ran in and pulled me out of the way just as the horse fell,” he said.

“Sure, why not. It will be nice to do it (sex comedy) if it is not vulgar but should be funny. Comedy is a liberating thing so anything can be funny… But it can be little dangerous as well, because there is no dignity and respect sometimes. I feel it shouldn’t be dirty,” Saif told us.

The actor said there is nothing wrong with sex comedy films. “I think people are nervous to talk about sex but they should be normal,” he said.

Saif would be next seen in Sajid Khan’s comedy film ‘Humshakals‘.

“I wanted to work with Sajid (director). He works very hard to entertain people. He makes all India kind of comedy films like ‘Heyy Baby’, ‘Housefull’. So you want to do films that are wider in reach and have an appeal,” Saif said.

He said ‘Humshakals’ is different from his previous films where he showed up the funny side of his acting but the roles were ‘urban’, something that suits his personality.

“There are three roles and I am playing three different personalities. Normal things do not interest Sajid,” Saif said, adding the film is his first full-fledged comedy role.

The ‘Dil Chahta Hai‘ actor has also done mimicry of lot of actors including his father-in-law, Randhir Kapoor.

“It is difficult to do mimicry. I don’t think I am a good mimic (artist), I think Riteish Deshmukh does it well. I never paid attention to these things. I did not tell my father-in-law about it. He hasn’t seen it yet. I think imitation is highest form of flattery,” he said.

The 29-year-old actor made his acting debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year‘ and was seen next in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee‘, both showed a lighter side of him.

Sidharth will be seen in a different character in his upcoming movie ‘Ek Villain‘.

“There is an image of what people perceive I can do a certain kind of a role only. To break that image is important. I kept hearing that I would not be able to shout, yell and do action. I am glad ‘Ek Villain’ came to me,” Siddharth told us in an interview.

He said with ‘Ek Villain’ he has got an opportunity to break his “boy-next-door” image.

“It is a way of answering criticism and speculations that whether I am here to perform or for (just) glamour. For this film I have worked on my look, body language. I think the general vibe after ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ was that I have a ‘sweet-boy’ image. If I keep doing same thing every six months, I don’t expect the audience to get entertained by it,” he said.

Sidharth said he was little nervous before shooting as the role was something different.

“I had not done this kind of role before. The character has negative shade to it and there is a love story as well. I don’t know if it (the film Ek Villain) will be successful or not. Promo has been accepted, so I think there is some expectation from this film,” he added.

In real life, Sidharth admits he too has a dark side to his personality like everyone else.

The 69-year-old actor said that he learnt from his past mistakes after temporarily splitting from his wife last year, reported Digital Spy.

“When you are younger you care what other people think. And you take the person closest to you for granted. You waste a lot of energy on strangers to make a good impression. When you’re older you focus that energy on the people closest to you, on your family. And you’re courteous,” he said.

Douglas also explained that he thinks mistakes are only bad if people fail to learn from them.

“First you have to admit that you made a mistake, then dealing with it is easy. Of course it’s important to make mistakes, as long as you grow from them,” he said.
